Why shouldn’t we eat fish?

Fish is nothing but an animal full of muscle, with fins and gills. Majorly a fish has only protein and fat with no dietary fiber, Vitamin C or carbohydrates.

Many fish are at the top of the food chain thus, highly infected with environmental chemicals. Fish like tuna, swordfish, and shark contains a high amount of contaminations that can cause potential health hazards. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has counseled pregnant women or who plan to conceive not to eat king mackerel, shark, swordfish, and tile fish because of possibility of high contents of mercury in them.

It is a myth that a fish is more beneficial than pork, chicken or beef.

Fat content found in fish is generally high and 60% of calories come from these fats.  This can effortlessly add on to your body fact increasing the chances of obesity and other related cardiac ailments. Fish fat can also paralyze the effects of insulin which in turn increases the possibility of high blood sugars and in due course ends as diabetes.

Fish feed on other fish that gorges on algae and plankton, which are commonly contaminated with ecological pollutants. These chemicals are concentrated in the fish fat, which under the process of biomagnifications moves up the food chain, making us more susceptible to eat those fish.

We can find a good amount of animal protein in fish which is acidic in nature. The high acid content because of the intake of fish makes us suffer the consequence of bone loss, which sooner or later leads to osteoporosis.

These are few of the many reasons that advise us to stay away from eating fish!
